Epic thread bump! So, Jimmy is currently sitting in the driveway with a dead battery, dead tail and headlights, and overdue for an oil change. I'm waiting on some funds and then I'd like to start trying to fix him up as best as I can. I'll need to replace some of the grille parts and probably the front seats as they are torn up from years of sitting in the Texas sun. The headliner is also sagging so that will have to be replaced, too. I've also got a tiny dent in the front bumper thanks to a fender bender (totally my fault), but I don't forsee replacing that anytime soon as it would be too expensive and I don't want to make an insurance claim.
Anyway, here are some more pictures of Jimmy through the years!
This is my European 2003 New Beetle, it’s a strong 2.3 liter V5 170 hp engine, with great sound, just love it!
It runs on petrol and LPG, first few photo’s she has her summer rims on, last photo her winter rims.
18x8 TSW Jarama Wheels, 225/40 Michelin Pilot A/S plus tires,Eibach pro-kit lowering springs, Audi TT pedals. Soon will be big brake kit, HID headlight conversion anti-roll bar, performance chip, and cold-air intake.
Never had a beetle before, but the wife found this and refused to budge, it was a long way away but she was adamant.
So meet "Daisy", our new family member, I'm sure she recognised it as a sure way to stop me borrowing her car.
One thing for sure, it is a conversation starter wherever she parks.
finally putting up my car
I've been putting it off because I had many embarrassing dents and was ashamed :(
But not anymore!
Her she is:
note that is the side where her rocker was dented :)
She still needs to be buffed and sanded but so far she's looking pretty good if I do say so myself...
