MAF Sensor Question

1296 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  jensenchase
1998 2.0 gas Beetle...Had a code P0103 (but car ran fine)so I changed the MAF Sensor now car starts but stalls in about 5 seconds. If I disconnect the sensor it starts and runs fine. Could it be the Secondary Air Pump??? It was held together with wires but I drilled out the rivets and put bolts in to seal it tight but it still cuts out in about 5 seconds.

May have Gorton a bad MAF, do you have a warranty? Or did you get it from a salvage yard? I had bad luck with the salvage yard, I bought 3 and all of them were bad.
Bought it on Ebay New. could it still be defective you think??? I could return for replacement.
