Former Fast Food Burger Empire Kept Alive by Loyalists - QSR magazine

NCBG is planning the March 29th GTG to be a run to this historical burger joint in Greensboro. For those of you wanting a fun run for the start join in in Carrboro at the Arbies on Hwy 54. We'll have a carabugavan to Beef Burger then enjoy a meal and have another run from there.

More details are being developed......

They have a whole wall lined with retro arcade and video games as well as an extensive menu of calorie-intensive delectables to scarf.

I haven't eaten at beef burger since I was attending college, even though I drive by there about every other week. Very excited about this one, too bad i'll be coming from the north :/
Best of luck with this GTG. How is the N. Carolina Beetle club going, anyway? Dustin and I are having a tough time getting the North Country Water Beetles going. The two of us are the only active members. :(

Well things are slow but sure. We typically have three or four join the GTG and hope to continue the growth. We will see how this one goes.

If I didn't already have plans that day, I'd be there!
Plans are falling into place with this weekends event. We are looking at gathering at the Beef Burger in Greensboro at 2:30pm. For those wanting a fun drive before we will meet in Hillsboro and drive from there under the guidance of Don and ******.
It sounds like a fun GTG!!!

Do you have a meet up time planned for Hillsboro?
"Slight change in starting location and time - we will be in Asheboro instead of Hillsboro. Meeting at the car wash on 1525 North Fayetteville Street at NOON. From there we will adventure down twisty roads with several one-lane bridges that will make travel interesting. We will arrive in Greensboro at Beef Burger around 2 to enjoy a meal together before adventuring out on the country roads leading to Pilot Mountain for another photo opportunity."

Map of routes
It's basically a 3 Stage Event and all are invited to participate in any, some, or all.

Stage 1 - Back Road Ramble
Meet in Asheboro at the designated Car Wash Address at Noon and from there we'll head down Old Liberty Road to Liberty N.C. This is the twistiest road I've found so far in Central NC. The "best" part is between Hwys 22 and 421 and crosses 7 small bridges including 3 that are single lane. Hopefully, Saturday afternoon local traffic will be light so we don't get held up as the road is best run unabated.

Old Liberty Road terminates in Liberty and from there we'll roll up and over to Greensboro arriving at Beef Burger around 2PM or so.

Stage 2 - Chow and Pals
GTG at Beef Burger, Meet time between. 2 - 2:30 for late lunch, photo ops, stories, lies, other sorts of fellowship and etc. Some folks may be joining us solely for this part of the day.
History of Beef Burger Drive-in

Stage 3 - Head to the Mountain
Approximate time - when everyone is ready. This is the back highway run to Pilot Mountain for scenery and more photo ops.
About Pilot Mountain

After the Mountain, some folks will head North, some South and some East and we'll wish it wasn't over.

It looks like rain. Hopefully forecast will change.

I'll take the rain over snow/ice :)
