I borrowed VCDS and ran it against my 03 1.8T NBC. I was expecting some issues with the transmission as I get the brackets around the gear selector indicator in the instrument cluster after warm up. Since it is 11 years old and the PO did no maintenance I expected other issues. SO here they are:

I looked up all the codes on the Ross Tech site and have a general idea where to start. WHat I don't have is a Bentley. So some assistance is needed in tracking down the locations for checking the ABS issue. I will check what wiring I can around the brakes themselves. But from the way this reads its not a specific tire but the ABS system? Where is the ABS module and can I test it somehow?

Also, any assistance with the Central Conv. issues is appreciated. IT all shows voltage too low - is this perhaps an issue with module in the drivers door? Maybe the solder points are bad?

As an FYI - I have had a history of issues with the fuse panel on top of the battery melting. I have replaced 5 and currently have a new one, with a new heavier guage wire to the Alternator - plus a new alternator and a new CPS.

Trying my hardest to keep this thing running. Its my daughters, she is away at Bama in her freshman year (driving my reliable HOnda Accord).

Thanks Billymade.

I did some searching (on here and other forums). Based on my searches I cleared the codes - they may have been old codes from when the fuse box melted. Ran a new set and voila - all of the intermittent ones related to power went away! YAY.

This is the latest scan:

Looks like the Tiptronic switch is the only issue. I am going to disassemble the shift mechanism and see if the magnet has slipped (there is a tech bulletin out on it - 37 07 07 Feb. 2, 2007 2013850 ). Well and the driver electric window motor!? - don't have any issues with it at all so I am guessing it is probably something to do with the solder points.

Pencilneck - borrowed it from a friend. Did not want to update someone else's stuff. I did tell him it was in need of updating.

As for the PRNDS issue: I think it is resolved. Turns out the magnet on the Tiptronic selector was off. Found the magnet and its holder laying loose. So I glued it on.

Now that I have all the center console off - I will just mosey right into the blend door repair.:):)
