Hi, first time poster from Europe here.

First of all, thanks to whoever created these forums and thanks to the people keeping them alive.

I'm seeing myself forced to flush out the old coolant but I can't find the valve that's supposed to be on the driver's side under the radiator. Does anyone have an old pic or anything to give me a few pointers?

Welcome to the forum! I know I've found it very useful over the years of owning my Beetle.

This link has a diagram showing the drain valve:

It is part of the plastic elbow that attaches to the radiator outlet fitting.

The issue that I'm having here is that I can't see anything underneath my beetle because of some sort of panel blocking the view.

Should I remove the panel?

Yes, the panel has to be removed. It has to be taken off for oil changes as well. On mine there are 4 T-20 screws.
