New member. Long time owner
Hi, In the summer of 2000 I bought one the 1999 LHD 2.0L Beetles that VW brought to the UK to ease demand at the time. It was ex dealer with 5000 miles on the clock. Now it's still my main car with 198K miles. However with the mileage it is a bit tired. Work have just offered a 'too good to be true' lease deal on a new car. Thus I'm looking for a project to turn my NB into a 'Leisure vehicle' while at the same time fixing the glitches. Thus I find myself here looking for inspiration.
Early thoughts were towards a performance project such as bigger/better engine/suspension/tyres/brakes. More recently (inspired by the recent flooding in the south/central UK and the:roflmao:ground clearance of a standard NB) the Beetle Dune Concept of 2000 (which I actually prefer the look of to the 2014 effort shown in Detroit this month).
Anyway. I probably will a part-time poster and continue to look for inspiration from within these pages.
