Hi, I'm Kimberly. My daughter and I own a 2002 TDI Beetle. I have a question.

A few days ago while driving, the ac suddenly stopped blowing cold, now only warm air. We changed the 3 30 amp fuses on top of the battery, changed the 10 amp clutch fuse, checked coolant levels, etc. Defrost works fine, compressor kicks in. I tried to determine if it is the mixing flap but not sure.

I am not a mechanic but can do some simple things and basic trouble shooting. We currently do not have a manual but will be getting one after the 1st.

This is my daughters first car so she is learning about it, same as I am.

We do not have a lot of money to throw at this problem since she is a student and I work part time, so any guidance to something else I can check or replace that doesn't involve a mechanic (yet) is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Assuming the a/c itself is cooling correctly; a common failure, is the pivot bushing for the blend door, when it breaks, things can be stuck in “hot/heater” mode. VW stopped making this part but they are being reproduced and sold on ebay.
