Just started to play with my engine . . . I'm between gt2860rs and gt2871r
Already have
fuel pump walbro 255ltr
fmic mishimoto
intake
injectors
down pipe

So I need new turbo to finish exhaust and remap

Goal is 300hp for now and after replacing pistons and rods with forged ones, also swap shaft (with a tsi model) and camshafts to reach 400hp without need a new turbo . . . I saw that 2860rs limit is up to 350hp but many people push it to 400hp without a problem. I want to avoid 2871 cause of higher rpm spool and lag. . .I heard that 2871 wakes up at 3500rpm and has 100% at 4000rpm . . . for 2860rs its -500rpm.

Any knowledge or personal opinion by using these turbos is welcomed . . .

These turbos are almost the same only the exhaust part is different. If you upgrade your exhaust system and manifold, I'd choose gt2871r.

I'm going to install GTX3076R to my 1.8T after I install engine internals.

I've installed 3071r for couple of months but switch to 2876r . . . difference is that with 3071 needed higher rpm to wake up than 2876 . . . car goes in 3 different maps . . . No1 with 1bar (14,5psi) pressure No2 with 1,5bar (21,8psi) and No3 with 2bar (29psi) through a boost controller . . . :) at 2bar even 4th gear spins and burns tires . . . Brake 2 times the engine bases and 1 the gear box bases . . . remap is with Unitronic but custom . . . I have launch control and shift gears with out leave my foot from the acceleration pedal . . .
In test rides when go from 3 gear to 4 with full pressure (2bar) and external opens it is like hell . . . :D :D :D :D
At test we go to 270 + km with 6 gear at 5800 rpm and can go more . . .
