Since the last bowling alley closed in Honolulu, there
is not much to do ... thought I would join this forum ...

Seriously, though, my girlfriend bought a 2010 New Beetle
Hatchback with the 2.5L gas engine, and I discovered this
forum while trying to help her.

Water is leaking into her right, passenger headlight, and
the lens is becoming clouded. Also it blinks off while
driving at night. After looking around the web, I decided
that someone had removed the headlight assembly and then
reseated it improperly and failed to connect the 5-pole
plug correctly. So I will remove the assembly, clean and
lube stuff, and try to seat the headlight correctly.

She also needs new front tires, 205/55/R16 I think, and
some paint touch-up. I found nice Michelins at Sears.
I couldn't find the paint code within
the VIN decoder, wonder where it is on the car -- on the
door post or in the engine compartment, maybe.

Hello from the warm reaches of North Carolina! Look in the spare tire well for a label that has the color code.

Hi Eddy

What a great guy you are to be looking out for your girlfriend's NB :)

The paint code might also be on a sticker in the users manual, or like 02SilverSport said, in the spare wheel well.

Good luck with your headlight repair, try to be patient when working with the headlights.. they are not the most user friendly part on the car lol. It's better to take extra time when putting it back in as too much force can crack the locking mechanism (the plastic part that looks like a collar that swivels).

Let us know how you get on and post some photos when you have a spare moment :)

Worry less, drive more

Driver's side door and trunk on driver side. Or you can tell us the color and we can help (final edition? Yellow? Black? Etc)
