I have a 98 New Beetle. Like a dummy, I left my lights on. Next time I went out to it.....no power. Duh.

Charged the battery up using my portable charger. And still nothing. No outside lights. No inside lights. No radio, clock, or horn. And obviously won't start. not even a hint. Checked all fuses, they seem to be ok. Not interested in paying the garage by the hour to track down an electrical issue, I'll junk it first but I'd rather not.

Anyone have any creative ideas that I can try?

yep

an old battery usually get's ruined if let to discharge completely down or it's lifespan cut short after that. Having a charge just means the potential is there but Cold cranking Amps is what's important. I would jumper it from another vehicle to see and prove it's the battery.
