Hey, everyone!

I had to replace my catalytic converter in May to pass inspection. Now, the O2 sensor is dead - "no circuit activity" is what the computer says. The guy at AutoZone also said that running for too long with a bad O2 sensor would ruin the brand new cat.

Does anyone know if that is true?

If so, how long might I be able to drive the car before the cat might be damaged?

Your car should have 2 o2 sensors. The one behind the cat will not ruin the cat if it fails. The one in the front could damage your new cat.

If your not getting any sensor response look under the car for the junction box where the wires come together for both sensors and see if any are broken.
