Hey guys,

So after a month of waiting, I finally received my Bernt gauge pod in from ABD Racingwerks, I have my boost gauge and my oil pressure gauge on order with sender from 42 Draft Designs.

My question is, will a large Mann oil filter still fit if I install an oil filter sandwich adapter? I intend to use this adapter from New South Performance since it looks a lot nicer than the glow shift one:

I like to use the larger filters as I drive a whole lot and typically run 7,500-9,000 miles between oil changes. A quick visual inspection from the top looks like it will hit a cooling fan if it sticks out much further.

Has anyone done this?

Oh and before anyone says anything about running my oil too long, I've been testing it and have the proof from Blackstone Labs.

I'm strictly using Motul 8100 X-cess 5w-40 and it gets changed about every tow months or whenever it hits its mark.

Check out the report.

Interesting about the thermostat, I had not thought of that. A water temperature gage will be my third gauge for my dash pod. I'm waiting until I change my radiator houses to install the sender. At that time I will also replace the thermostat and housing that have been sitting around since I replaced my timing belt.

As for the oil, fear not, most of my trips for work are at least 200 miles of highway and often over 400. So the oil gets up to temp and stays around 3000 rpms most of its life.

Any concern with running stock sized filters for 9000 mile intervals? I'm mostly worried about filter surface area.
