I have a 2004 1.8l 20 v Turbo and now the passenger side headlight along with driving light is out. I was told to get a new headlight connector and 4 wires by my VW mechanic. When I changed the bulb originally which did not solve the priblem, I noticed quite a few wires (more than 4) attached to the connector. Is there a color code guide I could follow or do I have to test all the wires? Thanks for your input. It was a bit easier on my 73 super beetle

The wiring harness, inside the headlight assemblies; tend to get very hot and the insulation falls off, plugs, terminal ends, can get loose from heat. Tunemyeuro, sells a upgraded wiring harness; I've used them and they have better wires and use oem plugs. NOTE: this will NOT work on the Turbo S headlights; they are different, then the normal ones.

Upgraded Wiring - VW Beetle Headlight Harness - 1C0971671 (AAR1083)

$26.99

The Dorman harnesses, get bad reviews and the genuine VW replacements, will just end up failing again.
These are the wires that are attached to the connector..I don’t understand why there are so many and when I look at the harness for sale online, there are not that many included?
