The issue is that the radio will play what ever station that is on and when you try to change it or play a cd it says SAFE MODE and it will stay on the station that you had on. I've tried everything I knew. I can't get it to the spot to reenter the code for the radio. has anyone seen this before?

Ive heard of them going into a lock mode if you try the radio codes more than 3times

I have also heard of locking them out so I left the car running or should I say wasted gas for a hour or more and still does the same thing. I'm not sure if the radio is bad or if there is something else that I can do or try.

There was a problem early on that the radio would lock up. The fix was to pull the radio and remove the fuse in the back of the unit. Try that.

I removed the radio and took the fuse out. That allowed me to enter the code but still nothing I don't hear the beep that it say I should hear and should I have the the key on cause it allows me to enter the code with the key out but not when I have it turned on!! So confused...

That's not a radio that is locked after the car's battery is removed, that's a broken radio.
