is there a way to program a wireless entry key FOB from another Make of vehicle (like GM) or an aftermarket add-on remote to work on my 2003 New Beetle Convertible?

i want one just to get me in the car for when the door accidentally closes while I'm detailing or repairs and my keys are sitting on my driver's seat. Pop-A-Lock gets expensive after the 2nd time

It had to be the same style vw remote that you got with the car.

You can get the remote half of the key seperately, and it's pretty easy to program in yourself.
