What a pain!

I told my daughter to never leave valuables including change, visible in the car.

She puts all of her change in the center armrest, and when tilting it up to get to the Top switch, some of the quarters jammed the two hinges on the inside rear of the armrest.

I can lift it JUST enough to get my hand in there, but then the coins are jammed hard in the hinges. I've tried poking them from the outer edge, but they won't budge. I've tried to grasp the coins with a hemostat, but I still need to lift the lid too high.

If I lift too high or forcefully on the lid, I'm sure all of that plastic will crack.

Thanks!

It turns out that the lid comes off of the armrest.

Lift the lid slightly, pull the front end where the latch is located gently towards either side of the car, and the lid will yaw sufficiently. The hinges are made to be "popped" out this way.
