Radiator fan not working and cut wiring

Definitely, a possibility! Your local VW dealer, can get you the needed terminal repair wires and a new plug, if needed. For the terminal butt connectors; I would follow VW's recommendations and use the heat shrink, adhesive lined, crimp style, butt connectors and that will have a solid, sealed connection.

Just a thought, that isn't the connection to the ambient air temperature sensor is it? (2 pin connector to sensor mounted behind the left side lower front grille, for clarification, below battery, left of radiator). Does the temp. read plausibly in the clock/temp. display in the roof panel? Otherwise, sorry not sure what it is, the radiator has a 3 pin connector to the cooling fan temp switch (2 stage) this is also in same vicinity, the 3 wires are thick 4mm if memory serves me.

The temp display inside reads reasonably. This wire comes from the top middle of the radiator fan, directly under where the hood latch is and goes along the top of the fan housing towards the battery and then goes down below the battery to what looks like the transmission fluid pan area. The cut is along the top of the housing next to a plastic plug

Did you repair it; replace the terminal ends and the plug?

Hi again,
From what you've just described, this is the bonnet(hood) catch switch wiring. This is to a microswitch inside the catch for alarm sensing. Nothing to do with the fan, recommend fixing anyway to prevent any other issues, but not related to your fan.

Yes, I followed your instructions/VW recommendations with the crimp style heat shrink but connectors but it did not fix my radiator fan. Looking for other loose wires, etc

the wire your showing here, brown one, is the wire that controls the fan that goes on when your a/c is being used. I some cases it will actually stay on for a few minutes after you turn off the car.
