I have a 1998 2 litre beetle that runs like crap on rainy days. I have changed plugs and wires and the issue will not cease. It runs great on clear dry days, any ideas?

it's strange you say this because I have a 1998 TDI the runs very well on rainy days...

No coil to crack and cause misfires on a Tdi, plus the cool moist air will hold the fuel charge longer before detenation under compression stroke.
