re: new side window visor in '06 beetles!

Hey, I was just at my local dealer and saw a new item on a '06 Beetle! There is a stock optional side window sun visor that attaches where the pull hand or sunglasses case is. Has anyone seen one or tried to add this to their ealier beetle? It looks like it will fit fine on older beetles; it would be a new add on as the sun visors have never reached the sides very well. Let us know if anyone has tried this...

This is a great new feature, I use mine quite often. Wish they included one on the passenger side as well though.

My apologies for digging up an old post.

I did do a "search" though and have'nt came up with
anything.

Do these side window sun visors work on pre-06 beetles
and
does anyone have a part #.

I want to be sure they fit and work before I put
the $ down.

The front visors are a joke.They are so tiny.

I tried calling 1stvwparts and my local
vw delearship today but i just got the service
managers voicemail.
And I hate talking to machines.

I believe 1stvwparts has it listed a sunshade
but no prices or illustrations are available.

I hope the side visor comes as a whole piece, I would hate to
get it and find out i need the caps as well.

If these don't work as planned I think I may
try out some Honda Element visors.
I had an element 2 years ago and it had huge visors,
The Element visors also had a panel buit in the you
could pull out to cover the entire side window.

Ok, so this will work on the older NBs, but my scenario is this, will it work with my glasses holder?

...When did the driver side stop getting the glass holder and get a handle? I don't see much use for it.

Don't you let go of the steering wheel while driving often Benny? Appearently there were focus groups that do! lol. Yeah I don't get it either.

VERY interested now that I've seen a picture. If it fits on one side, I'll bet I could fit it to both I'd just have to turn something around in there....

That is a sweet addition. I don't even know if I have a grab handle. The steering wheel has always controled the car better for me. Now my passengers always seem to be reaching for thier grab hendles.

I would imagine there is a right hand side version as well. Seems only logical. I mean, the Europeans may be backwards, but they can't be stupid, right?

Do those sun shades actually help? Because the front ones are complete pos and don't do anything. The roof is so high and the sun shades are so small that I'm always blinded by the sun.
