There are so many options out there; much depends on what type of rotors you want. Maybe others; can chime in with their experiences and recommendations. I had to replace my front rotor with new ones; as they got warped. I went with genuine vw rotors at the time; the oem was (I think) Zimmermann or ATE. There was so many options at the time; I got overwhelmed, I just stuck with stock but I am sure, there are probably better options out there. I believe, that my calipers are marked ATE. Looking at various parts sites with genuine VW pads, I'm seeing ATE, BOSCH, ZF/TRW, and even BREMBO, as oem manufacturers of brake pads for VW.

ATE Brakes -Welcome to ATE

Otto Zimmermann Bremsscheiben GmbH -

For the part # 1J0698451R: photos online; the parts are marked ATE or TRW/ZF.

Around here; I have heard people mention EBC Brakes and Power Stop, as nice aftermarket rotors and pads with increased levels of performance.

EBC Brakes - Brakes for Cars, Motorcycles, Trucks and SUV

Power Stop | Extreme Performance Brake Systems

You might look at tirerack.com or ecstuning.com and see what different brands they offer.

Another good parts site; http://www.autohausaz.com/, offers rotors: in zimmerman, ate, bosch and brembo, all of which have been oem's for Volkswagen over the years. As you can see; there are so many options to choose from, maybe others can share what has worked for them.

Please everyone give your experiences; I haven't really tried anything else, aside from stock vw rotors. Problem is; if you go online, you get a zillion different opinions on a certain brand. There are so many variables; related to how long a rotor lasts, whether or not it is prone to warping; if someone, thinks they are better than stock, etc. etc. I don't really have a answer; others, please chime in. I would assume; if you are ok with stock performance, the vw rotors would be fine. Looking online; the zimmermann coated rotors, look very similar to the genuine vw rotors.

Maybe this video; will be helpful:
