So this happened last night... anyone know of hidden recalls or TSB? If that's a useless rabbit hole... aftermarket replacement spring recommendations? The other rear spring looks like it's about to go as well. Is it crazy for this to happen with only 56K miles and virtually no rust what so ever on the entire underbody!

Seems to be a issue with later model VW’s; you might contact vw Custer care your local vw dealer service dept., for help.

If they do not and you are left to do your job win repairs, it could be a opportunity to do a performance upgrade. Eibach, and H&Rs seem popular German brands or just replace them with stock springs, Eibach I believe have a million mile warranty or fcpeuro as a supplier, offers a lifetime warranty on everything they sell.

Customer Care was a laugh... "sorry, can't help". Figures! Dealership said, not a chance they will warranty it. They want $130 a piece OEM. Eibach has nothing. H&R only has lowering springs... the Mrs. will not be happy with that (we are getting older!). It seems the only place offering aftermarket is ECS tuning... springs won't ship for a month. Looks like the VW is sitting in the garage for a bit!

Darn, sounds like you are on your own; always worth checking! Did you check FCP euro or other auto parts stores? VW parts prices are normally higher then aftermarket but typically; if ordered will come in next day, if in the warehouse.
