Recently had the tedious job of repairing cable mechanism on passenger side rear. One thing I noticed is a new tensioner spring I forgot to fit on the cable lower connection but all works fine at moment until I strip it out if have to. The problem I have got is the window now has appx 4mm gap to the outer seal so water will get in. Also it , at highest point sometimes wants to sit slightly proud of roof until I pull softop over it. However it seals nicely against the front window. Have I misaligned something? If water gets in does it drain out or will it build up.....

yes its miss aligned. when the regulator is reinstalled there are adjustment nuts that need to be reset. it needs a special tool say VW but ive done it without. watch this video at 8min mark. follow the instructions and you can get rid of that 4mm. 1mm or so is acceptable. the water does drain out as the seal is never 100% sealed. but you don't need pools of water sloshing round in the cavity's.
