Greetings,

I have been searching for a replacement part which is the 2-pin rear turn signal socket for my 2004 GL.

When I search the parts websites the only part that's available is the 3-pin socket which looks like this....

But what I need is the 2-pin socket which looks (similar) to this....

Or should I just go back to the dealership to order the part?

Look at your old one for the part number or look it up here: Shop Volkswagen Parts and Accessories

The genuine vw versions are sold online; at places like amazon, online vw dealers or your local dealership. There are also aftermarket versions made by Dorman; however, the price is similar and I would go with a genuine vw part. http://www.dormanproducts.com/ Call your local vw dealer with your vin #; the price difference may or may not be that much more, if you need it right away it may be worth whatever price difference there is. If you have multiple vw dealerships in your area; call around, you might be surprised in the prices differences between them.

It looks like it might be this but confirm with your vin #, to get the correct parts:

Volkswagen Socket. Tail Lamp Socket. .
Part Number: 1H0953123E MSRP $ 27.36
