Hi guys in a some what related leak/seep problem we are having with my wife's 2006 VW Beetle we have elected to replace the crankcase seal/plate on the pass side of the 2.5L engine. We removed the A/C belt to get to the seal plate but the book is calling to turn the CC pulley to set the engine at TDC on #5 cly. When set one is to install a pin seen in the illustration shown. Obviously most of us do not have this pin to thread into the bolt hole on the back. Anyone have an idea on how to navigate around this so I can keep the CC from turning while we remove the retaining bolts from the pulley?
Appreciate your input.
