Why does it need to be reset? Are you talking about a Check Engine Light?
Replaced Battery - Computer Won't Reset
I recently replaced the battery on my 2006 New Beetle Convertible. I was told to drive the car and eventually the computer would reset. The car has been driven almost 200 miles (320km) and it still has not reset.
I'm hoping someone has had the same problem and can tell me what to do.

Assume OP is referring to the Emission Readiness Monitors??
If so, they should have cleared by now.
Good cars without problems can have Emission Readiness Monitors in a few as 2 days and about 20 miles of driving.
Please elaborate on what you are referring to as far as the Computer Will Not Reset and why you do you need it reset??
Do you have lights on the dashboard?
