So my tire blew out late one night on a 300 mile drive and I needed to use my spare. Trouble was, the plastic "nut" holding the screw stripped immediately where it held the head of the bolt. Turns out I can be fairly strong when I'm riding the adrenaline rush of blowing a tire at 75mph next to a tractor trailer, and I crushed the nut and yanked it off. After that it was fairly simple to undo the bolt.

I'm a 3D printing researcher. So instead of just making a big washer, I decided to design and print a replacement. If you have a printer, have access to one through a friend, or have one at your local library, you can easily print one too!

Further instructions are on the Thingiverse page for my design. You'll want the original bolt or a replacement (It's M8x75, I believe)
