I've done a search throughout the forum and I can't seem to find any up to date info on replacing a New Beetle horn with an old style Meep-Meep horn from a 1960's-70's Beetle.

I'd like to know where to buy them and how to install them.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I made some phone calls and found that it's not possible to replace the horn, due to the sophisticated on-board computer of the 2015 Beetle. It would be kind of like the human body rejecting an organ transplant.
I honestly can't believe that no one here knew this! :(

It was a common swap; in the early days, of the new beetle. There are TONS of threads about this mod; read these threads and see what people used to do.

NewBeetle.org is the ultimate resource for enthusiasts of Volkswagen's New Beetle. The site features photos, discussions, chat, and more. - Search Results for meep meep horn install

Personally, I like the stock horn sound and with it being a two tone (high, low), it is loud enough to alert anyone on the road. I'm happy with it as is.
I too like the high/low horns that's why I was going to use an old Karmann Ghia horn set.

I still feel like my horn isn't loud enough, like people are ignoring me when I honk at them.
Here in SoCal, a notoriously large amount of people have no idea what a turn signal is, especially when you get cut off on the freeway!
I want a horn that scares people out through their moon roof!!!

I would say get a train horn, but there's no where for it to fit in a beetle  Maybe a louder horn of some sort that's connected to a momentary switch? Would be kinda ghetto but then you would still have the factory horn too to keep it from crapping it's brains.

There's got to be a way to swap the horn. This was the first mod I wanted to make. The stock horn is too high and soft.
I prefer the old loud dual tone horn.

I'll check to see if there is a work around.

You can do it..

you will have to make a harness that goes from your new horn to the factory passenger side horn. You will splice into each wire. PIN 2 ON THE CONNECTOR MUST ALWAYS BE GROUND!!! IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THIS AS GROUND (BROWN WIRE) THEN YOU WILL NOT HAVE A FUNCTIONING HORN.
I am not too sure what you mean, as I've never done car electrical before. I will ask someone at my local Bug repair shop what they think. Thanks!

Today, I stumbled upon the panic button horn (sets off the alarm) - that's the old meep meep horn!
Now, just have to figure out how to switch the alarm horn for the driving horn...
