Rod bearing tabs

So i took the old rod bearings off and ordered a new set. The ones i took off did not have the tabs on the sides. The "exact fit" replacement ones do have the lock tabs. Do i need to return them for tab-less bearings or will these work? I ask because I've found evidence that some lower end work has been done on this motor before. Thanks.

Good question and I am curious as well.

From my experience, the answer is usually yes, what you put back in should look like what you took out.

Im of the same opinion but several sites list them as exact fit, but they dont ask specifics like AVH etc. Btw, they are sealed power 4-4465P bearings.

I couldn't resist ant cut the plastic and opened them. No way they will work. The tab forces them to ride all the way to the outside...hopefully they will take them back.
