I’ve just got Bruce my 2003 Bug back from a friend who neglected him for 3 years!
Rare Alaskan Green 1.9 TDI 150k & crayon smell - he’s a weekend car.
The dilemma - it will cost £1100 to pass MOT & need Cambelt too ASAP.
Given it’s rare and otherwise in good condition do I go with my heart and repair or say goodbye and let him go Bug heaven? I need help please !

Ask yourself this. Will I regret it if I keep it and fix it, or if I send it to the Beetle graveyard? Your answer will tell you.



If it were me, a low mileage TDI, and that rare color, I would keep and fix.

What's more important to you...the joy and warm happy feeling of owning and driving your Beetle - or a meaningless cold dead money pile? 🤔 ...haha!

Not all the best decisions you can make for your life have to make the most financial sense!

Keep it mate. Looks in fantastic condition (body and interior) other then the mechanical needed to pass MOT. Fun car is always worth a few quid. Cheers
