There was a recent thread about making your own short shifter by cutting down the stock shifter shaft because all of the aftermarket ones are notchy and worse than stock. Well I have been planning on doing this for a while after my last car (S2000) spoiled me with it's super short throws. I never liked the big rubber shift knob in the Beetle so I picked one up and did the shift knob, cut down the shaft about 2 inches and replaced my boot made by an ORG members mom :) Here is my new knob.........now show me yours :):D

Here is my shiftknob :)
I've got a Rieger shift knob like VW2.0Driver, but illuminated in red instead of blue. Strangely, I've got no pics handy at the moment.

Just put it on today. Off a 911 Turbo, and cut the shofter shorter, I like it. Will take better pics during the day tomorrow. Working on fitting a Porsche 911 Turbo ebrake handle also.

I won't post a pic of mine, since SukhoiDave's looks exactly the same. But that will soon change! So maybe I'll post one then!
