Side mirror swap? Is it possible?

Hi! I have a 99 beetle and was wondering if there is a way to swap out my side mirror without the led blinker to the ones with a blinker? Would they fit? Has anyone done this? Thanks! I have a visual below. The first picture is the mirrors I have. But I want the ones in the second picture.

Yes...definitely possible. I have a 2002 NB that had the side indicator markers. My body shop removed those, filled in the holes, and repainted that area. They then painted the "shell" of the new mirror to match the car, and mounted them onto the existing black door mirror mount. Looks like it came that way from the factory.

It can be done but it is more difficult for a 99 than it is for a 2002. The door hinges are different and have to be swapped. There is a post somewhere, although possibly on the old org with directions on how to do it.
