when u have projects their are 2 kinds... fun ones like turbo upgrades, intercoolers. then their are the pita ones, clutches, gauges.... this falls into the pita... i got this battery relocation bc i cant run the battery in the front of my car. intercooler piping runs right into it. so i got this kit for summit i think.. and it looks cool i guess. makes the engine bay look clean. so far ive taken out the center councle, and started feeding the line under the carpet.. ha how fun. here are some pics.. left to be doen is find a grounding point... drill a hole in the firewall... and hook the stock battery cable to the new one. and drill holes to mount the box. i also gotta install a blitz turbo timer. and my cam gear. but the crqppy thing is i had to take out my 6 disk cd changer:mad: ohh well ipod time

why didn't you run it under the car next to the fuel lines like i did with my nos?

Make sure you hook up a vent tube to the outside of the car. You don't want to breathe what comes out of the battery.
Unless it's an optima sealed type battery, in which case there is no vent.

Interesting project, v-dubed.
Definitely looks like a PITA, but I'm sure it'll be worth it in the end... particularly since it's the only way you can get your intercooler in.

Wouldn't it be cool if there was enough room for the battery under the rear seat bench... so it could be in the same position as the original Bugs ;)

Next week my car is going to get an inverted intake (like the TT) so th eentrance to the manifold will be in the right. A big front mount intercooler will be there, I went to the shop today to find out how the heck they are going to do the plumbing etc with the battery in place.... Id let you know hwaht they dis because I think my battery will have to go elsewhere....

put more pics please just in case I have to copy your setup..thanks!!!

goofy question,

why can't you locate the battery on the passenger side and keep the cd changer?
looks like the cables are generic type and they are plenty long enough.

otherwise, keep up the good work man!

i stuck the battery box their bc if fit their. their isnt any space on the passenger side. and for pulga umm where are u going to do with the hot side of the piping??? u going to rout it right over the fuel line??? cuz i was going to do that.. but its not very smart. or go the way the old piping went. i hooked up the asesery cables. and the conectors cost me 60 bucks for 4:mad: but it looks nice. and i found that my ground for the started was broken so i fixed it the ghetto way lol.
