This has me stumped.
Recently I was driving home and depressed the cutch pedal only to hear a grinding or scraping noise.
It only made this noise when the pedal was depressed.
I was positive it was the throwout bearing so I bought the Luk 17-050 kit and replaced everything.
Things were fine for a week after replacement until it did it again this morning.
Strangely,if you turn the car off and then start it again, the noise immediately goes away !
Could there be an electrical fault that causes the starter to engage by depressing the clutch pedal ?
Has anyone else had this problem ?

Could be the ignition switch. These fail relatively often. When it happens next see if jiggling the switch toward "start" and back affects it.
