Good morning everyone, I'm new to the forum and new to the NB so please don't slam me if this is common knowledge around here. I did search prior to posting.

I just picked up a used 2002 NB TDI that is in need of TLC. The previous owner removed the factory steering wheel and installed an aftermarket unit without an airbag. I want to go back to a factory unit with safety equipment.

Are steering wheels / airbags physically and electrically compatible or are there years (or models) I have to avoid? I'm even open to installing a wheel from any VW vehicle if I can find one from a Golf, Jetta, etc... That is if they will work.

Any input you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Adam

any mk4 golf/jetta/beetle wheel will be a direct bolt-on. (99.5 - 2005 for golf/jetta)

Some higher end jetta and golfs came with wheels with steering wheel control buttons.. the buttons wont work on a beetle.
