Removed and refinished steering wheel spokes.

1) Wipe down with Duplicolor Wax & Grease Remover, then dried with clean cloth

2) Sanded with 600 grit 3M Wet or Dry paper

3) Wipe down with Duplicolor Wax & Grease Remover, then dried with clean cloth

4) Wiped down with Tack Cloth

5) 2 coats Duplicolor Adhesion Promotor

6) 3 coats Duplicolor Silver

7) 3 coats Duplicolor Clear

*All per can directions

To remove them, use a small flat bladed screw driver to pry them off from the back side.

You will need to start at one of the seams pry, move to the center of the piece and pry, and the other seem and pry.

(between the rubber of the grip and the edge of the piece, and pull the outer edge once separated out first.)

There is one center piece that will break ( but it cannot be seen) it is between the front and back covers you are removing and will not need to be fixed, the two pieces you remove will snap back together when reassembled.

Not a hard thing to do, but makes a world of difference in appearance.

Very nice. Lots of people have wanted to know about adding the front fogs. Please post up how you did it so others might know.

Check Your Fans

Thanks to DanG144 over at TDIClub.com for helping me last weekend and pointing out that neither of my fans where working!!!!

We cut them apart, fixed them and reinstalled them, saving me about good $105 a piece for replacements.

Here is how to check:

Turn on your key - do not start the engine
Turn on your interior fan switch
Press the A/C switch

Both fans should come on and run on low speed! If not, get them checked or pull them and check them for sure.

Added Side Repeater Lights

Finally got around to adding these, and I love them.

They flash opposite the turn signals just like on a BMW.... and they only funtion when the parking/headlights are on.

The lights themself are from a boat supply, they are amber LED bulk head lights. Got them at Acadamy Sports, in the boat section.

Here a the photos, gonna write up a How To for those that want to add them too.

Edit: Here's the How To Install Side Repeater Lights as promised.

In one photo the LED is on, it doesn't look impressive in the photo during the day time, but at night
it shows up like a 4" circle of light, no excuses for not seeing them....

Well after a long awaite short time ....

Had a mini GTG at DonD144's (TDIClub)(unplanned) and Installed new timing belt, rollers etc, replaced all vacume lines, and also cleaned a nasty intake and disabled the egr and removed the cooler.

only took us from 8:30am to 11:00pm to get it all done, reinstalled, tested, timed.

Got to get a MAF Sensor it is bad, and afterward it'll be runing like new.

HEY, it is 100% different car, it is running at about 60% horsepower, after I get the MAF it'll be 100% and smokin' fast you could say....!!!:D:cool:

I'm Ready for the Tail Of the Dragon now!!!

Cleaned my MAF

I used CRC MAF Cleaner and cleaned my MAF and that seemed to solve my MAF issues.

It runs like crazy now! Just can't explain it....

Anyway, got it logged useing VAG-COM and you can see about a 75% increase in performance but still lacking about 12% from where it should be.

So, needless to say I will still be getting a new MAF.

Did the Coolant Tank Weep Hole mod & silicone sealed my headlights, to keep the moister out.

Had to take the headlights apart and sit them in the sun to dry up the water and then put them back together and sealed them up with the silicone.
