Hello from Oz.

I've just bought a 2002 IKON 2.0 auto.

One issue it has relates to the opening of the boot and the fuel lid. The controls are opposite ie, flicking the fuel lid switch opens boot and vice versa.

The previous owner said this happened after the door regulator was fixed.

Is this just a transposed wire somewhere?

Yes, the connectors on the switches are reversed. The connections are identical, so this is possible to do. The door panel needs to be removed to do this. Instructions are in the links here:

As Red says...easy to tend to. And yes we did the same thing when we did our door latch. They didn't "key" this thing, so the connectors are very easy to reverse.

If this is the correct setup, then swapping these two will fix my issue? Does each plug have the same connections?

you don't have to remove the panel, the connector assembly pops out if you pull on the buttons, the connectors are the same shape and share terminal locations, simply swap the connectors, happens all the time when people remove the door panel and don't pay attention. best of luck!

you could do it while letting her warm up for the ride home haha, it's really that easy, just don't be afraid of breaking anything

Done. Easy, though it required some leverage with a wide flat tool to move it.
