Hey, for the folks hanging out for Six Shooter Sunday, posting up links of things to do while your in town.

In past years, some of the folks went to a local Casino, and some have gone up to Maggie Valley to the Wheels Through Time Museum and grabbed a late lunch and our world traveling Beetle gal Marcia (Mazzja) found a wonderful state part just at the edge of Bryson City (Deep Creek State Park).

So, if you have an idea, throw it up here and see who else is interested in joining.

Keeping a running list of ideas and supporting websites here:

Also, what has become "the" dinner of all dinner's, there will be a group of folks having dinner at Guayabitos Mexican restaurant in Bryson City on Sunday night. Highly recommend this one!!

"Road to Nowhere" directions from The Ridgetop:

The road to no where is Lake View drive.

To find:
1 Come down the hill from the Ridgetop.
2. Straight at the light at the shell station
3. Left on Everett street( where you turn for the diner and Pops)
4. Continue on Everett street past the diner and over the railroad tracks.
5 Straight at light This is now Lake view drive Enjoy the 10 mile ride to the tunnel where the road ends.

There is a scenic overlook part way up looking down on Fountana lake.

You'll be happy to hear Rob, that Chamber and I are staying until Monday this year. I got Monday off from work so now we won't have to leave so early on Sunday!

Thanks for the directions, I'll add them to the first post so we will have them going forward.

Bummer about the Tartan museum, but if someone is traveling through that area on Friday, would be a neat stop.

Is it May yet?????

Haven't done the Road to Nowhere, so I think we'd be up for that adventure.

Dinner @ Guayabitos is a must. :D

Wheels through Time Museum and Maggie Valley is a nice relaxed side trip.

Simone and I visited the Biltmore two years ago...It was fun, but in hindsight, I'd rather take an entire day and take our time visiting the estate. Think visiting the Biltmore and Guayabitos in one day is squeezing a bit too much into SixChuter Sunday...:)

We will most likely drive over to Maggie Valley on Sunday morning for breakfast at Joey's Pancake House which has the best breakfast you can imagine. Then we'll drive over towards several waterfalls on NC 28 (Dry Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, etc). Join us if you like!
