Been like this since I bought the car a couple of months ago. Anyone else experience this and is it an easy fix?

The sensor is located in the bumper area on the passenger side and it may be damaged or disconnected.

Is it easy to get too if I jack up the car or do you have to remove the bumper....?

On the turbo cars the sensor may be on the drivers side??

I know I was changing the oil on my 2003 1.8t GLX Convertible and there was a sensor right next to the drivers side fog light, just behind the grille, which I assume is the outside air temp sensor??

The outside temp sensor, G17, will be on just behind the "chin spoiler" on the left front. You may not even need to lift the car to get to it. Just look under the car, below the left headlight, it is just behind the painted trim.

Thanks for confirming the location.

I was not 100% sure it was the OTS but sure appeared to be what I was looking at the other day.

Mine was the same; until I disconnected and removed the battery to get at the shift linkage. Now it works.
