Hi! Recently, the solenoid of my high pressure fuel pump on my 2015 Beetle R-line (2.0T TSI CPLA) has started making a lot of noise when running both at idle and under load. The ticking went away when I unplugged the electrical connector. Is this a normal sound or should I replace my fuel pump? Video links included: Video 1 Video 2 Thank you so much for your help!

The hpfp’s on the 2.0T; have been known to wear , the cam follower gets damaged and can then wear the camshaft. You might pull the pump and inspect for wear. Review this video for more info:
