Does anyone here use any lubricants on convertible top pivot points. On my Mom's 2004 sometimes it seems like on the way up the top sticks a tad as though the brackets etc rub against each other too much. Is there any particular substance that's recommended for these? I'm hesitant to use WD-40 since it smells awful while lithium grease is very visible.

Here's what I use:
Uncle Charlies Magic Oil

A couple drops on all of the bushings and moving joints twice a year and your top will operate like new without creaking or binding.

Well, what do you know, skate lube, of all things. I'll try it.

I would be a bit concerned if something it binding in the top structure.

I have 2 convertibles and have no binding or problems with the top frame.

Can you identify where the problem is and take pictures?

Can't really see where exactly it was binding, but after applying some of this:

WD40 10034 3-in-1 w/telescoping spout

the problem seems to have disappeared. Will keep an eye on it.
