There is a down tubing which looks to be made of rubber between the turbo and the intercooler that has a blanket type heat shield insulation, Does anybody know what the shield insulation part # is and where to get a new one? or what else we could use in it's place. Looks exactly like the one in this picture with the red arrow. thanks folks.. 2003 1.8T turbo.

Looks like #6D to me:

Mostly likely; only available directly from VW; lots of places online, www.1stvwparts.com is a site with decent prices. At $90; it might be a good part to try to find used.
