Has anyone out there found a VAG COM read and app that works with an iPad? I did find one in the App Store, but it says it only works with a RossTech HEX-NET interface. I’m not sure what that entails and I was looking for something that is plug and play with my home network and/or Bluetooth.

My iPad is the 6th gen, with current version of iOS.

Thanks!

The latest version of OBDEleven (2nd generation model), is said to work with iOS/Apple devices; it is said, to have basic scanning capability at the moment in a BETA release, with more available, as they continue to develop the software/app.

The ross tech vcds, has a wireless version available called HEX NET; which seems to run on iOS/Apple devices in a wireless mode:

access would be through VCDS Mobile:

Yeah, it looks like a interesting setup; i haven't upgraded to it but i have the normal cable/usb connection version since 2007. These days it would be nice to just use a dongle and a phone or tablet, to easilly scan your car.

Comparing VCDS to OBDEleven, VCDS is definitely the more mature and professional grade tool with true usa based support. OBDEleven, is the new kid on the block; based out of eastern europe and in the second generation dongle ios support, still a work in progress and the app is in beta with only basic scanning functions avaialble on ios at the moment. It is quite a bit cheaper, then VCDS; so, you would have to decide what works best for your situation.
