just bought an '01 and the vinyl inside by the door handle is torn and handle is broken. Is this a common issue? Seems like all the beetles I looked at had this issue. Does anyone know if that one part (vinyl) can be replaced? Or does the whole door panel have to?

That is a common issue.


There are replacement vinyl "stickers", this may be your opportunity to personalize your new-to-you New Beetle!


I replaced mine, even though they weren't peeling. Mine were from a beloved Org members NB going to NB heaven.


There's at least one thread offering those replacement covers. Do a search, and good luck!
