Warning light for rear brakes?

So I'm at Big O strictly for an oil change and they are informing me I need new rear brakes. Tech says there is no warning light and I have no grinding either which he says is normal. So.my question is is there a warning light for brakes? I can't check the manual right now because car is still getting serviced. I know every time I even have low tire pressure it lets me know so surprised it wouldn't do the same for this. TIA.
