Hi,
I have 2006 2.5 liter beetle, it's at 92k just wondering what the norm is for 60 mph and higher. Should the rpm be at 2? It has tiptronic Sport gear but I don't use it. Should I? I just got the car and I am not use to a VW engine. Thanks Cathy

Be glad you have a 6 speed Tiptronic for better highway RPM.

Yes, your engine will likely run about 2000 RPM or higher at highway speeds.

You do not need to use the Sport mode unless you are driving some spirited roads with corners and hills. The Sport mode delays the upshifts and will provide more engine braking like a manual transmission.

One thing to know is the speedometers in these cars read slow. Get a GPS app for your phone and compare the speedo to the GPS.

Usally about 5-6 MPH slow at highway speeds.
