I have a '99 GLS and the side mirrors rest on top of the short arm extensions. I've noticed that on the (apparently) newer models, the mirrors look reconfigured: somewhat more elongated and do not rest on top of the short arm extensions, but are integrated into more-or-less one piece. What year did this change take place?
Yeah, it was a running change in 2001. The turn signals were integrated into the mirrors as well in 2003. All 2003 NBCs have the mirrors with the integrated turn signals, and I believe it was a running change for the 2003 NB (hardtop).
I actually prefer the looks of the '98 - '01 mirrors. I do realize they cut down on visibility. But I think they look better.
Actually, the "newer" mirrors came on all of the 2001 model NBs. The integrated signal mirrors were introduced on the 2003.5 model year for the coupes, and all NBCs have had them.
The mirror change happend for the 2001 model year. I have an 2001 GLX (built Oct 14, 2000. I got it from teh dealership Oct 31, 2000) and it has the newer mirrors.
