I created this thread over on the Vortex and thought I would bring it across the pond to the .org. This was originally created so that owners could show how wheels with different widths, diameters, and offsets would sit on the beetle chassis; as well as different tires and suspensions. You can view the original thread HERE!

The format is below and it is best if you include a pic or two that shows visually how the set-up looks.

wheel make/model:
wheel diameters/widths/offsets
-front:
-rear:
if modular, wheel outer lip/inner barrel
-front:
-rear:
tire make/model:
tire size
-front:
-rear:
suspension make/model:
spacers (if any)
-front:
-rear:

Below is a chart that shows a side by side comparison of the offsets and widths that some owners are currently runnning on their beetles. This does not show tire size which must be compensated for if running a wider and/ or taller wheel.

I will attempt to keep this as up to date as possible, but i may fall behind at times. Forgive me.

Great thread!

My setup:
Wheel make/model: OZ Superleggera
-front: 18x7 et35
-rear: 18x7 et35 with 10mm spacer

Tire make/model: Michelin Pilot Sport
Tire size
-front: 225/40
-rear: 225/40

Suspension make/model: Stock

-----------------

Old setup:
Wheel make/model: Unknown 5 spoke, bought second hand.
-front: 17x8 et35
-rear: 17x8 et35

tire make/model: Barum Bravuris
tire size
-front: 215/45
-rear: 215/45

Suspension make/model: Stock
Note: 215 wide (or narrow?) tires on a 8" rim with stock suspension doesn't look good on a NB, way too much space between the rubber and the wheel well.
