Does anyone have or know where I can get my hands on a "fixer-upper"? I lost my NB in Sept to a Drunk Driver and my insurance company, which will remain nameless (PROGRESSIVE:mad: ) only paid what the car was(what they claim)worth and not the value of the loan. The long and short of it, I still have a car payment for a car I don't have. And to further complicate things a recent divorce has left the bank account darn near dry. So I can't run right out and buy a new one! I'm looking for something that I can work on. Oh yeah, It has to be cheap! Yeah I know what your thinking (Yeah Right) but I have to throw this out there! I need another NB! I'm dyin' here. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!! Help Me!

Thanks!

That sucks. For anybody getting ready to finance a new beetle get GAP insurance with the loan. My bank (USAA) gives it for free. Basically it pays off the loan if it's totalled. Ask if it's included next time you finance.

Best of Luck finding one.

If you want a rebuilder, Oklahoma Foreign has at least one:

Here's another one much much closer to you. Less miles, a bit more than the 1st and an automatic... http://used-cars.autos.yahoo.com/usedcars/detail/index.html?cid=automobiles-192604174&dst=36.54&rsr=c2JyPWRpc3RyaWN0X29mX2NvbHVtYmlhLXdhc2hpbmd0b24tdm9sa3N3YWdlbi1uZXdfYmVldGxlLXVzZWQtY2FycyZiPTE2MA--

and this one is a little more than the last...still closer than the 1st and a manual. Don't know if you'd want another yellow though. :cry:http://used-cars.autos.yahoo.com/usedcars/detail/index.html?cid=automobiles-194402229&dst=96.23&rsr=c2JyPWRpc3RyaWN0X29mX2NvbHVtYmlhLXdhc2hpbmd0b24tdm9sa3N3YWdlbi1uZXdfYmVldGxlLXVzZWQtY2FycyZiPTI0MA--

can you tell I was bored today? :p

I found our first one on Autotrader as well. Did a 300 mile search and found the one we bought about 170 miles away. Literally saved about $2500 buying it from an individual.

Yep autotrader for me also picked it up 86 miles away, got a killer deal, one older lady owner totally well maintained. Good luck on your hunt.

If you're wanting a rebuildable Beetle, find someone who has their dealer's license and give them some cash to bid on the cars at the insurance auctions. You should have no trouble getting a Turbo~S for under $4,000 needing roughly $3k (or less) in work if you can do it yourself. Most places that sell rebuildables make $2k+ off each car.

Since you asked for some repairables, here are a few not too far from you. If you want more, drop me a PM or something and I'll hook you up.

2002 Gls

Heck, I've got a 2002 good running silver GLS auto I'll sell you for $7,000. It needs some TLC. It is my daughters car. I just bought her a new car and this one is just sitting in the driveway.

Hi Mike,

Thanx for the info and offer. I am looking for a "cheap" one that needs work. So Larkin's would have been p-e-r-f-e-c-t for me.
