First, always scan for trouble codes; post any you find and these can give you a clue, as to the cause of your problems. Post those codes and we can go from there, thanks.

Possible Symptoms
  • Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) active
  • Reduced fuel economy and engine performance
Possible Causes
  • Cylinder misfires
  • Spark Plugs
    • Old or worn out plugs
    • Incorrect type for engine
  • Fuel Injectors
    • Leaking
    • Dirty, poor spray pattern
  • Weak ignition system, coil(s), plug wires
  • Fuel Pressure
  • Boost leak
  • EVAP Purge Valve (N80)
  • MAF (G70)
  • O2 Sensor(S)

The code definitions, can give you some ideas, on testing for possible problems and solutions, from the results of the testing procedures.

What scan tool are you using; does, it have live data capability and do you want to do repairs yourself or have a professional repair shop, handle things? If you want to do your own repairs; we can give you links, to testing procedures, that can help you diagnose, troubleshoot your problems and do a process of elimination, to find the issues, causing the poor running problems.

The Bank 1 Sensor 2, is after catalytic converter; while, it does play a role in the computer adjusting the engine, the Bank 1 Sensor 1, plays a more important role. If you do decide to replace the 02 sensor; it is recommended to only use oem genuine Bosch sensors, which VW uses from the factory and are supplied, when buying genuine VW parts.
