Coolant question for the forum:
The coolant light started flashing red, then beeping, then keeps flashing red.
I checked the coolant, it's low. I asked VW to do a coolant flush, they advised against it and told me to top it off by adding more coolant.
The manual states only use G 12 A8D. The one they are selling at VW is Part No. G 013A8J1G and says Aluminum compatible Ethylene glycol. (Official VW/Audi Coolant Antifreeze)
The dealer also said there was no need for mixing the coolant, what they sell is pre-mixed, but on the back of the container the instructions state "Use 50/50, maximum 70/30 coolant to distilled water mix"
Also "Fill system with distilled water. Run the engine warm with heater on high. Thoroughly drain system again"
1. Is it still possible to top up the coolant by pouring it as
is (without the distilled water) in the coolant expansion
tank without draining the system?
2. Is this the right coolant? The dealer says this is the
coolant that's used for all VW vehicles, it's a red color.
